# Shephard's Pie

## Equipment

- 9x9 baking dish

## Ingredients

- `1` lb. ground beef

- `2` tablespoons olive oil
- `1` cup chopped yellow onion
- `2` teaspoons dried parsley leaves
- `1` teaspoon dried rosemary leaves
- `1` teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- `1/2` teaspoon salt
- `1/2` teaspoon ground black pepper
- `1` tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- `1/4` tsp garlic powder
- `2` tablespoons all purpose flour
- `2` tablespoons tomato paste
- `1` cup beef broth
- `1` cup frozen peas
- `2` carrots, peeled and chopped
- Mashed Potatoes to top, if you dont already have them, look at the Mashed Potatoes recipe
- `1` tablespoon parmesan cheese


## Instructions

## Filling

- cook the ground beef over medium heat,
- drain the grease from the meat, set aside
- add oil to a pit and heat
- saute the onion
- add ingredients in the order baove until you get to the flour when you get to the flour make sure you coat the other ingredients in the flour by moving around with a spatula
- add the tomato paste and broth and mix well with a spatula to ensure they evenly mix
- add the rest of the ingredients, and the cooked ground beef you set aside earlier
- bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, and simmer for 5 minutes

## Pie

- preheat the oven to 400F
- Add the filling ot a 9x9 baking dish
- use a spatula to get it evenly spread with no misisng pieces at the corner
- you can use a piping bag with a wilton 4B piping tip to pipe the potatoes on top, or just crumble ontop with your fingers and smooth with a spatula
- once the potatoes are present, sprinke some parmesan cheese on top of the potatoes
- bake for 25 minutes, or until potatoes brown to your liking
- let cool for 20 minutes before serving
